Died: April 30, 1848

Burial: Otwell In his 99th year. He served his country in the Revolutionary War."

Service: Enlisted in 1779 at Newburyport, Mass
served 6 months under Capt Putnam, Col TYLER's Regt

Enlisted again, 1780, at Newburyport, Mass
served under Col Rufus Putnam in Fifth Mass Regt.
Discharged at West Point, Jan 26, 1781.
Served 6 months.

Third Enlisted again in 1781, for 6 months in First New Hampshire Regt
under Major William SCOTT.Discccccharged at Saratoga.

Proof: Pension Record Book E, Vol 7, page 120

Pension application shows his wifes name as India STRATTON, but inscripton on very old gravestone reads
"Pursia A STRATTON, wife of John Mann, died March 6, 1859, in 92 years of age."

Married: May 1797 - India STRATTON

Children:

Elizabeth: Born April 2, 1804 - married April 3, 1823 to James LOGAN.
